Whether you're working with colleagues who don't speak your native language or chatting with a friend from abroad, it can be frustrating to find that Google Translate tab in your browser every time you want to read a message. Translate This is a simple app built on Google Translate: simply position the window over the text you wish to understand and hit the Translate button.
Translations you can trust.
Translate This uses Google's Optical Character Recognition to read the characters you see on your screen. Then, the Google Translate service you know and love translates the text into your chosen language.
Whilst we do need to send the selected portion of your screen to the Google OCR and Translate APIs, we never store the text extracted, the translation or the image itself. Read our Privacy Policy here
